Life in Elephant Town takes a lot of effort. If you have an elephant in your family, you will need to make sure it gets a lot of food everyday! Elephants can eat 300-400kg of grass, hay, fruit, and more each and everyday! This morning we helped to harvest one of the most prized treats for elephants - sugarcane!

After our harvest, we sampled the sugarcane then we took the harvest to feed some elephants!

We even got to see a very young baby elephant! He was so playful and fun!

Village Tour

We ride a traditional farming truck called “Itan” to take a tour of the village! We ran into an elephant influencer and learned about a special use for elephant dung!

We also bumped into a religious ceremony where a young man was going to be ordained a monk so he was throwing candy everywhere!

Elephant family

Elephants are a way of life in Elephant Town. To survive, elephants need to work and earn enough for their owners to afford food for them. It’s a tough life for both the elephant and their owners. We wanted to treat our huge friends to a feast filled with their favorite foods!

A bit of fun

In the evening, we were quite tired but still wanted to have some fun! We learned to play cards and gambled with delicious Mangosteens which are very hard to find anywhere else in the world!
